The Restoration of Dental Implants May Include a Crown, Bridge, or Denture

Many patients desire a fixed solution to missing teeth, rather than removable dentures. Dr. Bruce Gopin can perform the entire dental implant procedure, including the restoration of dental implants with a custom-made prosthetic, at our office in El Paso, TX. Dental implants can support a wide range of permanent restorations, including a single dental crown, bridge, or partial or full denture. Dental implant restorations offer a stable, durable, and comfortable alternative to more traditional options such as conventional dentures, and an array of functional and aesthetic benefits.

Dental Implant Restoration Options

Implants may support a single dental crown to replace one tooth, a bridge to replace two to three missing teeth, or a partial or full denture to replace several teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Each of these restorations can be fabricated from tooth-colored materials such as porcelain, zirconia, or ceramic to blend naturally with your smile. Dr. Gopin and his experienced staff will work with you to help you choose a material that will meet your specific needs and fit within your budget.

Design and Placement of Prosthetic

Following your dental implant procedure, it generally takes three to six months for your gums to heal and for your implants to completely fuse to your jawbone. It may take longer if you receive a bone graft as well. Once your implants have fully integrated with your jaw, we will take digital scans and impressions of your teeth, implants, gums, and bone to create your custom-made prosthetic.

Dental implant restorations offer a stable, durable, and comfortable alternative to more traditional options such as conventional dentures.

The digital scans will be sent to a trusted lab, where an experienced technician will craft your permanent prosthetic from the specified material according to the shade of your teeth. Once your dental prosthetic has arrived at our office, you will return for the final fitting and placement. Dr. Gopin will attach your permanent prosthetic to the abutment pieces on your implants. The doctor may make minor adjustments to ensure that your prosthetic fits properly, that your bite is correctly aligned, and that the restoration feels comfortable.

Benefits of Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implant restorations offer a permanent and durable alternative to traditional restorations, as well as a variety of additional benefits. Because dental implant restorations are permanent, they are easier to care for than traditional, removable options such as conventional dentures. Implant-supported dentures are cared for in the same fashion you would care for your teeth. Additionally, with permanent, implant-supported restorations, you can chew and speak with ease, and without fear of your prosthetic slipping out of place.
